Wind Power
With everyone trying to make the world a better place, they are turning to ways in which they can reduce the amount of waste that we make, as well as changing the ways in which power for everything is made. There are high concerns with the fossil fuels that we are using to power cars. There are many efforts being put forth in order to power cars in an alternative way that will come mainsteam, and completely rid us of using gasoline powered cars. But how does wind power work? And furthermore, how can we harness that to power cars?
Wind power is actually considered a form of solar power since it actually begins with the Sun. When the Sun is heating up the Earth the wind is then caused in an effort to cool things down. It is the goal of those that are for finding alternative power sources to harness the energy of the wind in an effort to get the wind to power the things that people need. But it is not really the wind that people are trying to harness, it is the kinetic energy that the wind is performing that professionals are trying to harness. Having the right equipment is the only way in which the wind can be harnessed and used, and it has been successful for a few years, however, it has really not gained popularity in the United States, as people would have thought.
Though, the idea of wind power is still not mainstream, there are many things that people should consider all the benefits that wind power offers. First and foremost, wind is considered is that wind is clean. Look at all the fumes and chemical that other types of power puts off because they do use fossil fuels in order to be powered, such as cars. Secondly, it is renewable. This means that no matter what wind will be available to use, which is something that we cannot say about fossil fuels since they are slowly depleting in the environment.
In order to make wind power a car, there would have to be some sort of intake on the hood so that as you are going down the road, the wind is harnessed and then transformed into power for the car. This would require completely redesigning cars, which is the main reason why there is obstacles in the way of getting cars to be wind powered. In fact, there would have to be mulitiple motors working on the car in order to harness the energy correctly.
However, even though there is quite a bit of those who are against the thought of wind power, the technology that could help in making wind power is becoming more advanced, which means that in the future, we can expect that wind power will become a dominant force in the power market. Whether it will become a power source for cars, is still debatable, however it could become possible as researchers are experimenting and beginning to fully understand the wind power movement.
